1. Anamudi : Anamudi is the highest peak in South India with 2695 mtr above
sea level Ideal for trekking.
2. Thekkady Wilde Life Sanctuary : 90 km. From kottayam, driving throw the
beautiful rubber, tea, cardomom plantation. The world famous Pariyar Wild Life
Sanctuary situated here. The spices of animals, generally seen are Elephants,
Bisons, Sambhar, antelopes, monkeys and Wild Bear[90 km. From kottayam and 169

3. Cheeyappara : Waterfalls about 1000 ft. high. Lies between Neryamangalam
and Adimali.
4. Valara Waterfalls : Near by Cheeyapara, is a good tourist spot. 5. Munnar
: Were three rivers meet is a beautiful peaceful hill station covered with
unending Tea Plantations. Anamudi in Munnar is the highest peak in south India.
The ten mile long rope way from munnar to kandala and 2.5 mile long rope way to
the 2810 ft. high top station are in use for transporting.
5. Top Station : Top Station is the top most point on Munnar - Kodaikanal
root. [ 32 km. From Munnar.]
6. Thoman Kuttu Waterfalls : about 20kms. From thodupuzha, attracts hundred
of tourists, with the serene beauty of the forest and the glittering stream.
7. Peerumedu : At an altitude of 914 m., Peerumedu is a place for trekking,
hiking and golfing.
8. Thattekadu Bird Sanctury : This Bird Sanctuary is in Devikulam Taluk in an
area of 25 sq. km. lies on the northern bank of Periyar river presents of over
200 varieties of birds, includes large falcon, gray jungle fowl, white breasted
waterhen, hornbill etc.,
9. Pallivasal : Hydro electric power station, about 20km. from munnar, is a
major power generating station in kerala and a picnic place.
10. Eravikulam National Park : The famous sanctuary near munnar is accessible
by road, just 4 km. From the Munnar- Udumalapet road. It is situated at the
crest of Anamala range. It has the largest population of Nilgiri Tahr existing
the world now. Other Fauna include Samba, Barking Deer, Gaur, Giant Malabar
Squirrel, Tiger, Panther, Lion -Tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Wolf, Pigeon,
Black Bird and Jungle Crow etc. A wide variety of plant life is available here.
The rare species popularly known as Neelakurinji grows here. The season is
November to April.
11. Marayoor : It is famous for the exotic sandal wood forests in the region.

12. Chinnar Wild Life Sanctuary : Located on the Munnar- Udumalpet road, it
is 70 km from Munnar, has wide range of animals including Elephants, Sambar,
Lion Monkeys, Gaurs, etc. and a good number of birds.
13. Devikulam : Devikulam is a small hill station, 16 km from Munnar.
Devikulam means " The Pond of Goddess", The Devi Lake with it's minaral water is
an ideal picinic spot.
